About Volleyball Dorset
What is Volleyball Dorset?
Originally formed over 50 years ago as the Poole and District Volleyball Association, Volleyball Dorset is now the umbrella organisation for volleyball in the Poole, Bournemouth and surrounding areas of Dorset wishing to affiliate to Volleyball England (the ruling body for volleyball in England) and the South-West Volleyball Association. Activities covered include both indoor and outdoor (beach + grass) volleyball, from beginner to international, aged from 8 years to over 60.
We help Volleyball England facilitate coaches and referees award courses as and when there is demand.
Core activities that our league and volleyball clubs run in Dorset include:
- Junior development for ages 8 to 16 (Wessex), Junior performance for ages 13 to 18 (Wessex)
- Open adult development sessions (Poole Panthers, Sandbanks, Wessex and Pars)
- Adult performance via National League teams (Wessex)
- Adult beach volleyball training at Boscombe Beach and Sandbanks Beach (see individual club websites for training information)
- Sandbanks Beach Volleyball Festival competitions
